PORTFOLIO

Add ?gist=<ID> to the Viewer's URL, where <ID> is the ID of the Gist.

Lighthouse Viewer . Click Export > Save as JSON .

To see all the options:

Lighthouse is an open-source, automated tool for improving the quality of web pages. You can run it against any web page, public or requiring authentication. It has audits for performance, accessibility, progressive web apps, SEO and more.

Lighthouse aims to provide guidance that is relevant and actionable for all web developers. To this end, there are two features now available that allow you to tailor Lighthouse to your specific needs.

Lighthouse extensibility.

To view the report data:

Install the Lighthouse Chrome Extension from the Chrome Webstore.

Click Run audit . After 30 to 60 seconds, Lighthouse gives you a report on the page.

You can run Lighthouse in Chrome DevTools, from the command line, or as a Node module. You give Lighthouse a URL to audit, it runs a series of audits against the page, and then it generates a report on how well the page did. From there, use the failing audits as indicators on how to improve the page. Each audit has a reference doc explaining why the audit is important, as well as how to fix it.

Install Lighthouse. The -g flag installs it as a global module.

To export a report as a Gist from the report:

Check out the video below from Google I/O 2019 to learn more about how to use and contribute to Lighthouse.

See Using programmatically for an example of running Lighthouse programmatically, as a Node module.

In Chrome, go to the page you want to audit.

To run an audit:

Share reports as JSON.

To install the extension:

To contribute a Stack Pack, review the Contributing Guidelines.

To export a report as a Gist from the CLI version of Lighthouse, just manually create a Gist and copy-paste the report's JSON output into the Gist. The Gist filename containing the JSON output must end in .lighthouse.report.json . See Share reports as JSON for an example of how to generate JSON output from the command line tool.

Click Analyze .

Click Generate report . Lighthouse runs its audits against the currently-focused page, then opens up a new tab with a report of the results.

If you are a company or an individual who is integrating Lighthouse as part of the products / services you're offering, first things first – we're so excited you are! We want as many people as possible to use Lighthouse, and this Guidelines and Brand Assets for Integrating Lighthouse is meant to make it straightforward for you to show that Lighthouse is under the hood while protecting our brand.

Lighthouse is open source and contributions are welcome. Check out the repository's issue tracker to find bugs that you can fix, or audits that you can create or improve upon. The issues tracker is also a good place to discuss audit metrics, ideas for new audits, or anything else related to Lighthouse.

Install and run the Node command line tool.

You can also use Lighthouse CI to prevent regressions on your sites.

If you don't want to manually pass around JSON files, you can also share your reports as secret GitHub Gists. One benefit of Gists is free version control.

lighthouse –output json –output-path <path/for/output.json>

Open the Viewer, and paste the URL of a Gist into it.

To install the Node module:

If you click on a particular feature, you also remain on your website and only continue in the tool’s menu. Only the features that allow you to view the location of SERPs will take you to another website.

It looks at links (broken links), but also at your titles, headers, etc. and gives tips on how to improve them. Checkbot also takes in the descriptions of pages and the ALT-texts of images and gives tips for improvements.

Furthermore, the tool is very extensive, making it not suitable for beginners.

Usability.

This tool is very comprehensive.

The criteria we examine for each of the SEO tools are:

This tool gives the option to view titles and so on as well, but the interesting thing is that the size of images is also taken into account. Page speed is very important for SEO, so images that are only a few KBs in size are important.

693 reviews and a score of 5 stars 100,000+ users Only available in English Free of charge.

There is also the option to see how your website will appear in Google’s search results (SERPs) and you can see how certain keywords look in different countries and languages. You can even compare two countries/languages. This is particularly useful if you sell your products in different markets.

SEO can take a lot of time and you may be too busy to check out all the different tools that help you improve your ranking. Fortunately, there are a couple of extensions offered in Google Chrome that let you keep an eye on your SEO scores and give you tips on how to boost your SEO strength.

General information.

When using SEO Minion, you need to go to the page you want to view for SEO and then click on the extension in your toolbar. A menu on the page itself will show up, displaying a couple of features.

The features are very clear when it comes to SEO META in 1 Click. You can see a general overview of the features provided: headers, images (including if they have a title and ALT text) and links (also which title the link has). There is also an option to see how your page will look via social media and suggested tools to learn more about the SEO of your website.

When you are on your website, you just need to click on the extension in your toolbar. It will then open a pop-up window on the page itself.

The only downside to this tool is that it doesn’t show your page loading speed or your domain authority .

Loading speed.

If you go to the page you want to review and click on the extension, a pop-up will open on the page itself. The disadvantage here is that it closes again and again when you switch to another tab within the browser or to another program.

Compared to other extensions, you need to take a few extra steps to have your website’s data shown. It’s also confusing that the home screen provides a lot of information that is of little use (especially if you don’t pay for it).

This tool is very user-friendly because you can easily see everything you need. An additional advantage is that the tool displays very little information that you don’t need.

The different tabs give you a good overview of your data.

The page should load after a couple of seconds.
